There are two orienteering courses, one for able-bodied people called a ‘Trail ‘O’ course and a wheelchair route where the markers are visible to somebody in a wheelchair. The former course was established in the 1990s in partnership with the Peak District National Park, North West Water (now UU) and the Greater Manchester Orienteering Activities (GMOA). National Park Rangers worked closely with the GMOA in helping to install the courses. The wheelchair course was established in 2000. There is no point in putting further information on here because the web link will take you straight to the Greater Manchester Orienteering Activities site where there is a wealth of information, including the route cards, about the two courses at Dove Stone and many others in Greater Manch
